Volkswagen marine engines - The drive for your boat.

The origin of marine engines designed and built by Volkswagen can be called idealistic, but that is not uncommon for Volkswagen products.

Uncompromising focus on long term customer benefit, future oriented technology and low emissions are typical for everything we make and as pleasure boats are intended to offer pleasure, these priorities fully match the expectations of demanding owners.

Aboard a powerboat, our TDI technology is likely to be among the most athletic engine choices available whilst saving up to 50% of the fuel cost against a traditional
gasoline marine engine.

After a five year period of research and development, the market entry of Volkswagen
marine engines took place in 2001.

In 2011 and until April 2012, the worldwide distribution was exclusively handled by Cummins MerCruiser Diesel (CMD). To further improve serviceability and drive customer satisfaction, the worldwide distribution shifted to Mercury Marine in May 2012. Mercury Marine is a worldwide manufacturer of outboard and sterndrive engines.
